Šumava – east

Seemingly endless forests interlaced with a network of mountain streams, large open spaces and plenty of fresh air – these are the main assets of Šumava, a spacious, 120-kilometer-long mountain range that stretches along the south-eastern border of Bohemia with Germany and Austria.

Human hands managed to make marvels here; Šumava glassworks ranked among the best in Europe and their art can be seen in museums in Klatovy, Sušice, Kašperské Hory, Vimperk, Železná Ruda, Lenora and Prachatice. Lovers of large vistas will also find plenty of amazing places in Šumava; join them and visit the observation towers in Kleť, Mařský Vrch, Libín, Boubín, Poledník, Svatobor or Pancíř.
