Pilsen region

The Pilsen Region is true to its traditions and yet remains open to the surrounding world – for centuries the inhabitants of Pilsen hosted the pilgrims who travelled to Prague, or in the opposite direction, to Bavaria. The historical Pilsen center with its imposing cathedral, the flowering parks around the city center and the unique taverns with the renowned Pilsen beer will all charm any visitor with their hospitality.

The villages of Rokycany, Přeštice or Old Plzenec all attest to the fact that this dynamic region with its developed industry has indeed managed to preserve its traditional architecture. You can then continue on a sightseeing tour through the countryside, such as to the uniquely preserved iron-mill in Dobřív and to tracks climbing to the first spurs of Brdy. Or you can take a trip along the Berounka valley to the picturesque ruins of Krašova Castle and then turn north to Plasy, Měntín or Mariánská Týnice. The valley of the Mže River and the adjoining Hracholusky water reservoir is a popular resort for all water sports enthusiasts.
