A new exhibition at the chateau in Třeboň entitled ‘The Rožmberk Renaissance Interiors’ has made accessible an Alchemist’s workshop from the time of Rudolf II, Petr Vok’s private library and the Rožmberk armoury. The exhibition showcases the golden era of one of South Bohemia’s most prominent noble families.

Kratochvíle Castle – a new tour of the renaissance interiors
From June 2008, a new tour of Kratochvíle Castle will be available to visitors. After more than 30 years, and following completion of a difficult restoration of the stuccoed and painted decorations of one floor of the villa, the furniture of the interiors corresponding to the period of the last Rožmberks – Vilém of Rožmberk and Petr Vok, of the 16th and early 17th centuries – is now on display.

Hluboká Chateau will be open even in winter
For the first time in its history, the Hluboká nad Vltavou Chateau is providing a winter sightseeing tour. Visitors will be able to tour 9 rooms in Hluboká, whose history stretches back to the mid-13th century.

Hluboká Chateau expands its range of guided tours
Hluboká Chateau is one of the most beautiful in the Czech lands. This season the staff have come up with a number of new and interesting features. Guided tour B will now include the private quarters of Adolf Schwarzenberg. It will also take in interiors which have been recreated according to inventories dating back to the 1930s.

New exhibition of attic rooms in the Červená Lhota Chateau
At this new exhibition within the roof space visitors can see two nurseries, the butler’s quarters, a corridor, the picture gallery and the upper hall. Of great interest is the intriguing spatial design, cleverly overcoming the problem of connecting various floor levels resulting from the sharp differences in the height of the rooms on the level below.

Extension of the tour route at Raduň Chateau
This year Raduň Chateau plans to extend its tour route to include the two dining areas – the masters’ and the servants’ rooms. Visitors will thus be able to see for themselves the dining habits and customs of both the noble family and their servants.
